Between these white/cream/beige/sky blue walls
A diddy poem about hospital care and visiting hours along with a French translation for the policy-makers...
A CONFLUENCE OF LIVING THINGS
Too many syllables on these beige, bone, eggshell, sky blue walls. Words swell and split the whiteboard surfaces. Oxygen feeds percolate from them like vines. Intravenous solutions pump and worm the endless vasculature. The catheter isn't catheting. It's not a word until it hurts so much they make one for it. Until it hurts objectively. Is it morphine time? Was it excised? Ablated? Amputated? Has the doctor seen my chart? Has the nurse seen my love poem? The walls pump pure, cold, ignoble gases in massive veins. The building heaves and cries. It sways like a drunk. It cries for public funds.
